Oroville, California: eight acres of peaches, apples, pears, and cherries and a 1/2 acre of trellis vegetable production for farmers’ market sales. Certified organic since 1982, managed veganically since 1994.
About the internship:
We are hiring 2 interns for 3 months April through June, then another 2 interns for July through September. We expect 30 hours per person per week of labor, including fruit thinning, harvest, packing, farmer’s market sales, and tree pruning depending on time of the season. We provide each person with housing, a weekly stipend of $150.00 per week, weekly soil & pest management readings, and a research or permaculture project to work on during the intern’s free time. Interns are responsible for their own food and cook/eat all meals on their own. There is fruit from the farm (late May-Sept.) and space for a small vegetable garden to grow your own vegetables.
